I tried calling a couple of times. Had them check the code I received to transfer the books and had two different people tell me they would escalate it and get my books transferred. Its been about four weeks since the last call and nothing. I'm thankful I learned about freeing my books from DRM a long time ago so I have them, but I will obviously never do business with B&N again. I sold my Tablet and Color and my Nook Classic hasn't been charged in months. Glad that B&N is doing so well right now they don't need someone that spent a bunch of money at Fictionwise buying books from them.

I received the following email:
Quote:
The email was from "barnesandnoble@m.bn.com". Any chance this is a scam? Thanks. |

Even though my library has been transferred, I just got a code from BN about half an hour ago....
This really is a Clutterbuck. |

They did say they were going to send out cheques, but account balances at B&N seem possible too. It doesn't sound like a scam to me. (bn.com is a Barnes & Noble domain)

I still haven't received a code.
I downloaded all my books, but I've heard nothing from BN since the initial email last November. |

Like most others in this thread I have backed up my purchases so I am not hanging on B&N to transfer the stuff.
But... Why bother doing it at all if it was going to be this protracted, this badly organised. It would have been less bad PR to simply shut down Fictionwise and transfer nothing. A few weeks of bad PR then business as usual. This lingering death is painful. |

Can you imagine what a mess it is going to be when they go belly up? Or maybe they will simply shut down with no access at all for those who don't know that they should have backed up their books.

Three free books have appeared in my UK Nook account, but no sign of my Fictionwise purchases.

Just as an update, The Lord of the Rings just appeared in my account the other day. Looks like they're finally fixing the Two Towers debacle.
