I appreciate this is near necropsy by now for poor @Minh who didnt get an answer on this thread but in the interests of anyone else asking the same question I will post an answer now (was checking today to see if it was a bug).

Series index is shown on the preview - it is in that series column that you need to resize.

As far as replacing the series index values on existing books in your library, on the next step of the wizard click on the five-pointed star button that has the tooltip of "Update metadata for selected books in your library". Then select the "Series" option. That will replace the series index (and name if it differs) for the selected books.

Here is a preview version of the next release, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could test it out and let me know of any issues. I am waiting a few days for translation updates before I push this out officially. The new features/changes/fixes:

• Option to replace tags rather than just append tags for a book added to Update Metadata Fields dialog. That applies to any multi-value tags-like custom column you add, not just the default "tags" column.
• Additional preset for clipboard import of `Title<tab>Author` for someone importing from Excel
• Updated metadata preview showed changes in blue, now it adds a bold font to assist highlighting
• Tags column only included on the matches in library dialog if it is a column selected for import
• Import of series index did not overwrite existing index value if book existed
• Revert to previous book metadata value in dialog did not immediately update all rows in the grid
• Fix Matches in library dialog not showing the current value of identifier columns

I know some of these requests were from 2024 but such is my life... Yes I am aware few (if any) of the "predefined" queries I wrote 15 years ago work any more, I haven't tried to "fix" them, that is a bridge too far at the moment.
