I just sent Elf the Sock what money gifts I had, it looks like any little bit will help.

I'm going to hit level 20 probably tomorrow, provided I manage my Bliss OK. I'm running an energy deficit of 3.4 million, which is 32%. So far I haven't gone negative in Bliss yet, but I'll be missing at least one cycle today so we shall see. Usually I run a deficit that gives me a 2-5% bliss hit and up my population when it gets down to 1% or so.

For the remainder of the beta, I have decided to reset my freehold. Things got real bad real quick for my original one.

I have named the new one theenframed2. I am accepting all gifts.

If I got 5 free books for playing the beta and then it all ends, I am fine with that. Just another reason to love Baen!

They won't stop but everything is resetted. So if you have some coupons not redeemed do it in time.

you mean free books codes you haven't had mailed to you or do you mean the codes themselves will expire?

I've just managed to reach Level 20 on my second freehold, once the voucher has been transfered to my main account with Baen I'll get them to kill the freehold as I don't think I can get from 25 to 29 allies before it goes live.

I don't mind having sock puppets during the beta so as to test it and develop strategies, but it doesn't feel right to me to do this after it's gone live.

Anyone else killing their sock puppets? Or will it just be me?

My second may reach level 20, I will used the coupons to buy 10$ gift cards then use them on my main account--that is the one's that are not used to buy EARC.

May or may not keep the second freehold, leaning to not keeping it.

You are on my list, but I'd suggest gobbling all population, then ask for Bliss each time.

Keep your setting at accept none until just before the cycle, though, to prevent a bliss gift bomb -- if you have "too many" (which varies depending on politics" gifts in the combination of transfer and hoard, your gifts are decreased from the system.

Give away everything in your transfer area - the receiver can burn them off, if the don't want them (using "trash this gift"); then, use, give away or trash anything in your hoard. do this each cycle to maximize gifts (and consider changing to -50/-50/-50 until the reset.

I prefer to use them as a 6$ discount for the monthly bundles, or EARC's.

Note for those pursuing alliances - there is apparently a bug (or really bad feature) where if a freehold you have joined does a reset, you lose the alliance.

Nasty surprise for those at higher levels, as you have to add yet one more alliance (at your current level-1) before you can get a book coupon.

Hope they get this one fixed.

That is why I did not reset my main Freehold when reset came out.
