![]() Like the first morning, Black bird has spoken Like the first bird. Praise the singing! Praise for the morning! maianhvk, if you can learn English as a second language, you can learn anything! I think English must be the hardest of all languages to learn and I think a lot of credit is due to all you folks who are able to converse so well in a language that is made up mostly of exceptions to rules! ![]() Cup is empty... need a refill. Any time there is stomach problems, drinking ginger tea seems to help. It's worth a try, and it's an easy tea to make even if you don't have the pre-packaged stuff. Just a couple of slices of fresh ginger and boiling water. Powdered ginger works too, and is a completely different flavor. Get well soon! Stitchawl |

Round about the caldron go; In the poison'd entrails throw.— Toad, that under cold stone, Days and nights has thirty-one; Swelter'd venom sleeping got, Boil thou first i' the charmed pot! ALL. Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. 2 WITCH. Fillet of a fenny snake, In the caldron boil and bake; Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,— For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble. ALL. Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. 3 WITCH. Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf; Witches' mummy; maw and gulf Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark; Root of hemlock digg'd i the dark; Liver of blaspheming Jew; Gall of goat, and slips of yew Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse; Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips; Finger of birth-strangled babe Ditch-deliver'd by a drab,— Make the gruel thick and slab: Add thereto a tiger's chaudron, For the ingrediants of our caldron. ALL. Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. 2 WITCH. Cool it with a baboon's blood, Then the charm is firm and good. Act IV, Scene 1 Frankly, I think a nice Ceylon would have worked just as well... ![]() Stitchawl Last edited by Stitchawl; 01-18-2011 at 06:33 PM. |

alright alright. I just finished Casino Royale last week and the fact that I don't understand half of the story due to the French words (which I don't understand) and my lack of experience with casino is uneasy. I'll study French.
in my big glass: 70% milk + 30% tea. @ Stitchawl + latinandgreek: I think English is the easiest language for anyone familiar with Latin alphabet. that's why they call it 'international language'. Fewer articles, no noun genders, logical grammar and word families... at least it's easier than study Chinese ![]() (Stitchawl, I admire you for your wide range of languages! Your knowledge almost include languages from every corner on earth!) Last edited by maianhvk; 01-19-2011 at 12:55 AM. |

![]() It's my favorite among all of Bill's tragedies. My son was having trouble with it when he was in jr. high (about age 13) so I took him to see a production of it with the actors in modern military dress. For some reason that allowed it all to make sense to him and gave him an interest in other works! But what are you doing up so late? Stitchawl Last edited by Stitchawl; 01-19-2011 at 12:54 AM. |
