![]() ![]() I would love to learn some more languages, for some reason I always liked Swedish. But I don't have time to take classes and I'm also not very good at language. I prefer math and science. In my cup: double cappuccino. |

Geezzz, it startled me that you are all multilinguals - exceptional beppe, Stitchawl and latinandgreek to name a few. I'm so worried that I can only use 2 languages
![]() to sum up your suggestions, the language I should start is either French or Spanish. I'll learn both of them, French first then the other. Italian and Russian sounds appealing but it's not easy to learn them here, so... que sera, sera. however I definitely stay away from hieroglyphs (Chinese, Japanese... or are they pictograms??) and just one more question on languages: is it because I'm a beginner or the French speak too fast? I remember my first time listening to English, of course I was small and knew very little about English, but it sounded pretty nice and easy enough for a 9-year-old kid to catch up. But my first time listening to French is completely different, I was overloaded though I was 18 at the time! I couldn't even figure out where they were speaking in the scripts, not to mention the odd accent and the meanings of the words! I'm a little bit scared to come back to French, frankly. oh I forgot, I'm having double mocha latte ![]() |

![]() I studied French in high school and often used it in Quebec, but when I first visited France, the speed of the language spoken there left me far behind! Stitchawl |

I need to know that I'm not the only one to have troubles catching up with the speed. Like I'm happily riding bike on a road and suddenly it turns to be F1 race track, or at least Tour de France! |

![]() This one is favourite of my wife because she enjoys making fun of beautiful girls with small shaped mouths, by pointing her finger and saying: you won't like this one ha-ha-ha you won't, her mouth has a shape like the rear anatomy of the chicken (knowing well that I love full lips ![]() Quote:
![]() Would you believe it? I complained to my wife yesterday. I told her that this guy who lives in Japan (she knows about you already) used to tell us he doesn't like bergamot but now he says he loves #1. She immediately picked up the source of my frustration: inconsistency. Being a logical robot and more loyal than a dog, I always notice it ![]() Quote:
![]() You have an impressive list of foreign languages because they are so different in nature. Quote:

![]() They stopped teaching English language in schools some ...20-30 years ago? 16-17 year old don't know what is verb, noun etc. How can you learn another language if you don't know the basics of grammar of your own language? (well, if you have an aptitude you probably talk like a parrot) Quote:
