8am and it's finally dipped below zero outside. First cup of the day... Ahmad's English #1! This raises a problem...

What do you do when you have three favorites? They are all 'first' favorites. How do I choose which favorite is my favorite favorite? That would make choosing which to drink first much easier. So many problems...

Oh, you poor metrically challenged Americans...
I've been living abroad so long that I now actually think metrically for temperature, weights, and distances. For some reason I still think Imperial for ruler measurements. I don't know why that is...
For the past 20+ years I've been using metric rulers. I should think in those terms too, right?

For example, I buy my tea in tins that weigh 250gms, rather than 4oz. My teacup is a one liter stein. But my waist size is 35 inches. Go figure. I'm going to go pour another liter of tea!

Velveeta has an unlimited shelf life, just like Hostess Twinkies. When they opened the tomb of Tutankhamen in Egypt they found an open jar of Velveeta that they carbon dated back to 1323 B.C. so the Anthropologists figure it was left over from his wake. It was just as good as the day it was sold.

I cup of Earl Grey tea. And guess what - my Russian textbook finally came today! I had waited so long for it, and I couldn't get through to the place that I'd ordered it from, that I ordered a different textbook on Friday

Oh well, it's probably a good idea to have two, as this will be self-study. No Russian until after my Korean exam next Monday, though, I don't have enough time!

Are you reading and writing Hangul? Fantastic! My hat's off to you! I found that more difficult than Hiragana and Katakana!

Having a nice after-dinner cup of Fortnum & Mason's Ceylon tea!

I am reading and writing Hangul - just barely, though! I've only been taking Korean for one semester. I, too, found Hiragana and Katakana less difficult, but then again I did enjoy Japanese a bit more than I am enjoying Korean, so that might have something to do with it (Not to say that I'm not enjoying Korean; I'm enjoying quite a bit, I must say).
