Either you need to be more careful how you put your Kobo in your bag or you need a better case with stronger magnets. I've had my H2O for 5 years and the case that's on it for just over 3 years. I've never once taken the H2O out of my bag and found that the case had opened.

It sounds like you need a new case. Here is a case for the Kobo Forma that won't get in the way in bed.

This is the brand case I have for my H2O but this one is for the Forma.

Oh and is the front screen made of plastic polymer, and does it scratch easily? If not then I'll probably not use a screen protector first.

Which is great for a glass-substrate reader, but the point of a plastic substrate is to (hopefully) have a far more durable device. The Forma case adds a lot of weight, and it would be nice for some of us to do without needing it.

I'd be very interested to know if anyone has drop-tested the Forma to destruction.

How many users were there compared to now? How many had hand arthritis or other disabilities? How many had no choice either way, so didn't think to complain to you? What do you get out of trying to gaslight people with disabilities about ereader weight, anyway? I, for one, would appreciate it if you would stop.

Ahhh, the Nook Simple Touch --- one of my favorite readers because it was so comfortable to hold. The only reason I bought another nook was because they went back to a similar design. I wish Kobo would make one like that.

The problem is that it doesn't open, it just wakes up with the cover closed, then it starts turning pages at random.

Thanks!
I've fallen asleep and had my Forma go clattering down between my nightstand and the side rail of my bed without issue. But you never know if it might hit just right and break anyway. Then again, in a decade of using various readers nearly every day and taking them almost everywhere, I've never broken one. ::knock wood:: And I don't use covers -- they just go straight in their sleeve when I'm not reading.

For me the flap that's annoying is the cover itself.

Presumably Kobo, except perhaps the to destruction part.

I remember when companies used to disclose results of such tests.

The cover I got adds negligible weight to the Forma. The cover has nothing on the back fro standing it up so it is extremely light and inconsequential.

The nook software is awful. So if the design. If Kobo ever went that way, they'd lose many customers.

If it was the Ratesell Smart Case he was linked to in a Forma cover thread, it weighs 6.4 ounces, so it also would nearly double the weight of a Forma.

If I could put my Forma in the Nook Glowlight Plus body, that would come close to my ideal reader.
