Many thanks for the PM - I really appreciate you taking the time to help us all. Alas, in my case reinstalling the firmware did not resurrect the kobo, but it was a worth a try.

Hi to everyone!

My Kobo Glo (the Classic one, not the HD) died suddenly. It doesn't turn on white screen, battery is full, the LED glows green, blue and then green blinking but nothing more.
I thought maybe the OS doesn't work or the SD card is broken so I want to try a new card with a fresh OS. Could someone please send me a link of the image file?

I see that several others have similar symptoms - the screen is frozen (it's stuck on the "connect to computer" image); if I try to turn it on the, the power light lights up green, then blue, then flashes green for a bit, and then goes out. The device is not recognised by the computer. I had tried all kinds of reset - at some point, the power light turned white and flashed repeatedly, but still nothing happened. The firmware was the last throw of the dice - I replaced the existing firmware with the factory reset, but it didn't help.

I didn't have a spare microSD card, so it's just possible the card itself was faulty, though I was able to browse through it OK with an EXT3 file-system reader OK.

Anyway, I had just purchased it second-hand, so I think I will just return it rather than spend any more time trying to get it to work!
