Just finished 'No Impact Man' by Colin Beavan. A bit over-written in some places, but overall a very good book---I clipped a lot of passages from it, and it really has made me interested in lowering my environmental footprint. It also inspired me to use a coupon code at Kobo on 'The 100-Mile Diet' and read that too.

The City of the Singing Flame was an interesting read, kind of pseudo SF/fantasy-good stuff!
Next to read, An Occurance at Owl Creek, a short horror story by Ambrose Bierce. |

It was, but far too short, it ended and I wanted more! (the story runs to 17 pages on my reader but 7 of those are Project Gutenberg legal stuff-the story actually runs to 10 pages)
Next up, The Mummy's Foot by Theodor Gautier, an author I can find little about! Last edited by Cyclops; 10-11-2010 at 05:36 PM. |

I'm reading "The Last Assassin" by Barry Eisler on my Sony, which is the 5th in his John Rain series. It's crackalicious, and I recommend the series especially if you enjoy the Reacher novels (personally I like Eisler better).

I just finished Brad McClure The Banshee House. I did like the story in itself but the writing isn't that good; his choice of words is often weird, the sentences often don't flow and there's too much information and dialogue that isn't relavant. In other words: the story needed a good editor.
I'm about to start Mary Ann Winkowski and Maureen Foley's The Book of Illumination. |

I just finished Boulevard by Stephen Schwartz. The cop is a sex addict who's chasing a serial killer who's targeting everyone around him. It was intense and I have mixed feelings about it.
Now I'm reading a sample of The Damage Done by Hilary Davidson. Compelling so far. L.J. |

I just finished "The Hunger Games" trilogy, which I highly recommend. I have just started "The Magicians" by Lev Grossman.

Finished Night of the Living Trekkies by Kevin David Anderson a few days ago on my nook. My first library book and it was a good one. Only clocks in around 256 pages so I blew through it in a day, but it was a blast. Exactly the kind of book I was looking for: funny, tons of gore in spots, and full of flesh eating zombies. A perfect October book. Highly recommended, even if you aren't a Star Trek super fan (I'm not). If you are, you will love all the little fan service bits thrown in.
