I'm not sure what to read next. I have so many books on my eTBR, but I think the plibrary book that is due on Tuesday is going to win out. It's by Terri Blackstock and it's called "predator."

I just started reading "Little Girl Blue: The Life of Karen Carpenter" by Randy L. Schmidt. I'm a fan of the music of the Carpenters and I've been looking for more information on the group. This is the first major book on the Carpenters that I've found since "The Carpenters: The Untold Story" by Ray Coleman (originally released in 1994).

Now I'm moving onto The Complete Hammer's Slammers: Volume 1 by David Drake. I've read a lot of David Drakes SF and Fantasy, and even horror. I've liked it all, even though I don't usually like horror.

I have this book in a beautiful leather-bound, signed, special edition by Night Shade Press. But I've never got around to reading it, as paper books are just so inconvenient. But Baen brought out the ebook edition a year ago, so now it's time to read it.

* I'm using this phrase deliberately. "The Secret" mentioned in the book title is apparently the idea that if we think about some desired outcome in the right way, the the Universe will adjust itself to our wishes, and what we desire will come to pass.

Now the book on Goodreads has it at 204 pages, and its only,err, 36 pages on my e-reader!

I am quite enjoying Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. I am hoping his Towers of Midnight is also released as an ebook when released in November.

The edition on Goodreads is probably an anthology that uses the title of the short story as the title for the entire collection.

Finished Empire in black and gold (finally). It didn't like it at first but it kinda grew on me. It took me a week and a half to finish though, that has to be a record

. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

But first I'll start dear old mom's recommendation, Fingersmith by Sarah Waters.
