Back to how we are now impacted since May 20. Surely Amazon can see a benefit of indicating which ebooks are DRM-Free.

Right now, before we purchase a Kindle ebook, we have to rely on an entry at the end of the blurb (summary), that says the following.

At the publisher's request, this title is sold without DRM (Digital Rights Management).

But not every DRM-Free ebook has that, as a few I purchased just before the May 20 deadline, did not have that.

They also did not have the other supposed indicator, which is the following in the 'Product Details' section.

Simultaneous Device Usage: Unlimited.

In fact, I don't ever recall seeing that option listed.

There is no way to tell whether a Kindle book is DRM-free or not.

Fortunately there still is Satsuoni's method for the Windows Kindle app, which I personally use to disinfect my Kindle purchases. I could never be bothered to use physical Kindles for this purpose anyway.
