Does anyone have an image for a kobo nia? Was thinking a larger sd card may make me love it more... Just can't compare to my old h20 that screen is going.


***edit*** just read the sd card is soldered in. Oh well I'll maybe look at the libra 2.

The Nia should have an SD card. From memory, there is a thread for the Nia asking for images. I don't have one and I don't remember if one popped up in that thread.

But, I doubt that a larger card would help. It already as an 8GB card. I'd say the problem is the screen. It is smaller and lower resolution than any of the different devices labelled as "H2O" (two different Aura H2Os and the Libra H2O).

The Libra 2 is a good choice for a new device. The screen is supposed to be excellent. It has a 32GB SD card, but, it is difficult to remove because of the waterproofing. I'm not sure if anyone has successfully removed and put it back with no problems afterwards.

Hello! Connected my Kobo Clara HD to Internet the first time for a long time and an update seems to have bricked it. Would love to have the image to try to restore it.

I tried the factory reset for quite a while. Keeping the button pressed for like 5 seconds or longer makes the indicator light blink once and then stay on indefinitely. Then pressing it again and keeping it pressed makes the light go off again after 5 seconds or so. Keeping it pressed longer in either mode does not seem to make a difference. The screen is permanently stuck in "Restarting" with 5 progress dots.

Which time did you hold the power button down for 5 seconds? The first time is to make sure it is off. If the device is working correctly, the device will turn off and "Powered off" will be displayed. If the device is not working properly, you should hold the power button down for longer, I usually say 20 seconds, to ensure the device is off. In this case, the screen will not changed. The next step, step 5 which is the actual factory reset, only works when the device is being turn on. And you need to hold the power button down with the device connected to USB for the full 30 seconds for it to work.

Been trying to do 30s+ and 5s presses when the light is on and when it is off. It seems that any press over 5s has the same effect of just toggling the indicator light on the button on or off. The screen never changes, it just says "Restarting" in 8 different languages.

If the factory reset is not then triggered after holding the power button down for 30 seconds, then there is another issue and you probably need to try the image.

Did not manage to factory reset it by any combination of the power button presses but the image worked. Back to reading now after letting it update itself for half an hour.

Strangely enough I could not write the microSD card with the vconsole image writer. It just failed at about 10% with a generic error message. Win32DiskImager worked though.

As a few previous users, I too purchased an Amazon Warehouse Clara HD which has a blank screen, and after having no success with hard resets, found this forum.

Could I please get the image?
