In the two latest builds, 583 & 589, the font size setting appear to have changed. I previously used the 3rd option from the left, and that was perfect, but now that setting give too large a size for my taste, while the 2nd is too small.
Would it be possible to change it so the font size can be chosen by numerical value? And ideally the margin size too. Add a battery icon, and everything would be perfect! Many thanks. |

what am I doing wrong?
I installed the latest build (589), and I cannot launch it. I don't know what is wrong. It cannot be filesmonitor, as e.g. kobolauncher starts properly (though the reboot does not work anymore either). I reinstalled fmon just in case, re-instlaled koreader, too, and still it does not work. The files are all there where they should be; Here is koreader.sh in fmon:
Code:
$root/.kobo/fmon/fmon $root/koreader.png $root/.kobo/koreader/koreader_kobo.sh & Code:
#!/bin/sh export LC_ALL="en_US.UTF-8" # we're always starting from our working directory cd /mnt/onboard/.kobo/koreader/ # export trained OCR data directory export TESSDATA_PREFIX="data" # export dict directory export STARDICT_DATA_DIR="data/dict" # finally call reader ./reader.lua /mnt/onboard 2> crash.log # continue with nickel reboot |

Originally the fmon command-line added ">> $root/.kobo/fmon/fmon.log.txt 2>&1 &" to the end (without ""). It puts all output of the command to a txt-file in the fmon directory. That could give some more info. |

Thanks Ken, I saw that and tried, but had the same problem. The other thing I can think of is that I also installed the latest Coolreader, and now wonder whether there are incompatibilities there.

OK Paolo;
I installed 596 and it ran fine, then I installed 1.2.6.10 and I couldn't launch Koreader, just like you. In my case it just showed the koreader.png as an image. So, I did a bunch of things and got it back working. The only thing I needed to do though, is to run the KoboRoot.tgz from the koreader update to reinitialize the launch process. Edit; tried again and there is more to it. Had to go back to 1.2.6.7 to get everything working again. Luck; Ken Last edited by Ken Maltby; 10-20-2013 at 01:15 PM. |

It is possible that latest fmon has changed syntax for launching stuff, I'll check that out!

EDIT: Sorry, I've forgotten the "&" at the and of "launcher.sh". It doesn't allow to start koreader.sh. Last edited by sergeyvl12; 10-20-2013 at 03:34 PM. |

OK, I installed the 1.2.6.10 build normally (using the .tgz file) and then fixed the Launcher.sh in fmon. Then tried Koreader and no go. Then did a power off and restarted and now it works.

So did what you did, but again koreader reboots the device. Could you please tell me what your Launcher.sh in fmon looks like? EDIT If I use this koreader_kobo.sh from the .kobo directory Code:
#!/bin/sh # Decrease the reasons for crashes. Search forum for cgm999's explanation. exec 3<&- # Stop nickel and related processes killall nickel killall adobehost killall dbus-daemon killall hindenburg export LC_ALL="en_US.UTF-8" # we're always starting from our working directory cd /mnt/onboard/.kobo/koreader/ # export trained OCR data directory export TESSDATA_PREFIX="../_Dict" # export dict directory export STARDICT_DATA_DIR="../_Dict/dict" # finally call reader ./reader.lua /mnt/onboard 2> crash.log # continue with nickel reboot Code:
#!/bin/sh export LC_ALL="en_US.UTF-8" # we're always starting from our working directory cd /mnt/onboard/.kobo/koreader/ # export trained OCR data directory export TESSDATA_PREFIX="data" # export dict directory export STARDICT_DATA_DIR="data/dict" # finally call reader ./reader.lua /mnt/onboard 2> crash.log # continue with nickel reboot Last edited by paola; 10-20-2013 at 04:38 PM. |
