p.s. On a more negative note, using this forum as a giant unthreaded list is pretty horrible for getting support. PRS+ needs it's own forum, or section.

Not that I have been doing it myself, but Google Code does have an issue (i.e.: bug) management section: http://code.google.com/p/prs-plus/issues/list

If people started using it, Kartu might well find it easier to provide support through there.

Only start prsp.sh from SD card root is safe, but it requires a SD card(maybe a memory stick is also work?). I think it's not difficult to delete the guard file using "Books by Date". The guard file should always be the last book.

Can mp3s be played while reading? Is this even possible?

You could, if there was a dictionary in PRS+. There isn't any at the moment.

Could you point me to frijest's solution or describe how it works in details, please, I don't want to reinvent the wheel, and if there is a solution that works well, I'll just take it.

Here is firjest’s solution. The Chinese Fonts is mounted in the internal memory.
Sorry, I can't tell you the detais solution, because i'm a simply user ,maybe thawk can tell you the detail. thawk?

Thanks. Meanwhile porkupan (aka boroda) suggested using his way: checking if device is connected to USB during startup. Works like a charm so far and doesn't require error-prone "create/delete guard file" code. I'll probably stick to this and allow even dot calls to prsp.sh in internalmemory.

The following is my chinese language patch to prs+ 1.0rc2. The autorun.sh is original written by frijest, and I just fixed a little bug.

/internal_memory/chinese/autorun.sh is called from tinyhttp.sh. autorun.sh will detect the guard file at start. Then, a disk image file is created, fonts and resource files are copied into the image file to allow user to modify fonts and resources at any time.

Where exactly do I go to get the most current version of PRS+? I have looked at the project site, but the only download I see in the down loads section is some .img file and I am pretty sure that is not it.

I have been following this thread since it started and am finally confident enough (in myself) to give PRS+ a try.

The textencoding.js file seems to relate to changing the default text encoding (presumably for non-PDF formats) to be appropriate for documents using the Cyrillic alphabet.

The sandbox_kartu.js file seems to be a long series of tests. It is probably a throwaway file that Kartu uses to try simple things, new function calls, et cetera before attempting to integrate them into the appropriate development .js files.

Text encoding allows you to choose between Latin1 and win1521 encodings for txt/rtf files that aren't in UTF-8 format.
