First of all, TMI.

Well, if you're going to have to eat prunes, it's probably better to eat them cooked in something than by themselves. Yuck!

I don't know how something so tasty when fresh (plums) could taste so bad when dried. Grapes aren't that way. Neither are a host of other fruits.

I read the last one as Samoans and was wondering how they would be quick and easy.

Gr8 posted some cookbooks this morning. I have a favor to ask. Please look at the freebie cookbooks before posting.
Every recipe in the Samosa cookbook was copied and pasted from various sites on the internet. Also, there were many strike throughs in the book.

Little word of advice: just because there is a publisher name does not mean it is not self published.

Feel free to message if unsure.
Another good rule of thumb is if they are in KU, good chance it is an SP.

We are so sorry for the mixup, we have uploaded to appropriate copy of the book. Amazon takes 72 hours to review the content and then make the book available to Amazon users. You should be able to update your road trip snack book in 72 hours and you will have the right book! I will extend the promotion for this book until the 5th just to make sure everyone gets the RIGHT copy.

I was a little bit leary of them, for two or three reasons. Decided to go ahead and make the post anyway. Especially since all of the books were free (and I thought that that prune cookbook was just so delightful. ha).

Several months ago--maybe 6 or so--we had this discussion on the cookbooks thread about Encore Books. The prevailing opinion was that they, too, were taking recipes off of the Internet and making books out of them.

My opinion was that the books could still be valuable, because they save people the trouble of scrounging the Internet to find recipes of a particular kind. The only issue that I remember having is that you couldn't be very confident in the quality of the recipes.

I decided not to post anymore of Encore's offerings, especially any that actually cost money. I may end up doing that with Echo Bay.

That explains why I couldn't get it.
Oh for the record, if you downloaded the original no guarantee your copy will update. You may have to go to manage my content and update that way.
Though after looking at the desserts and the Samosa cookbooks, I think I will pass on the road trip.

I will agree it is convenient, but by the same token it is profiting off someone else's work. I realize it is recipes and most general recipes have their origins in either "The Boston cooking school cookbook" (first cookbook to use standardized measurements), Good Housekeeping, Better Homes and Gardens, or The Joy of Cooking.
With the exception of the usual cornbread recipe. It came straight off "Aunt Jemima's cornmeal sack". Just double checked that and yes I remembered correctly. Double checked by looking on the refrigerator and the file cabinet. Both of which have copies of the recipe.
