I bought 5 Books this weeks. 3 Karen Robards backlists for $2.09 each from Kobo with coupon and those two contemporary Kasey Micheals titles for $0.99. All were mention earlier in this thread.

Oh and out of the five $5 Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks I have gotten 3 of them already! So 7 to 10 business days once you order them. There is a 5 per month limit on them but no limit on the other Gift Cards amounts. There is a limit where you can only order two rewards a day though.

Well, for someone with no money, I sure ended up with a lot of books... I was even out of town and off the internet for 2 days. My credit cards are all . I blame others though (as you can see)... and the Entangled Brazen sale - since I missed the Indulgence sale, I felt the need to make up for it.

The good news is I got 4 boxed sets. So while the number of purchases is 20, the number of books I actually got is 34...so that makes an average of around .75 Pretty good, eh?

I haven't participated in the weekly, ummm, accountings, because I normally just get the free books. I rarely want to spend my swag loot on full priced books, unless it's textbooks for daughter's college classes. I also got a great shop vac for hubby for Christmas last year that was on sale with saved gift cards at amazon. That said, I bought a book last week, not a romance, that full price on kindle was only $4.64 or so (too lazy to look it up). The pbook was like $16. Pick Another Checkout Lane, Honey is put out by the ladies who run thekrazycouponlady website. Talk about saving money! You might think of checking out both the site and book.

Thread hijack over. It was really hard resisting some of the books this week, but we are paying daughter's rent and some medical bills, and saving to help soon get his first apartment and get moved when he gets his first 'real' job (just graduated college). You all don't make it easy.

Have you taken advantage of your local library's overdrive program? You can get free ebooks to read that way. I'm currently reading a book I got from the Library. It has save me a ton of money! There is also Kindle Lending. Almost all the KDP books have lending available. So you can use a site like Lendle or Amazon's Romance Forum and get free books to read that way. This is how I get most of my New Adult books is through Lending.

You really don't have to spend money to find a good quality book to read thanks to these programs.

Oh, I have a ton in my unread pile, and it just seems to get bigger. I've gotten pickier in what I pick up even if free. I joined our library when it FINALLY got ebooks, but so far I've not been impressed. Mainly because I've read most of what they have that interests me? LOL. Don't get me wrong, there are about three authors I will pay up to $8 for, but no more, and they only come out about once a year, each.

I thought the rest of you might like to know how to save more so you can spend more on books. I guess I'm being an enabler in a different way. LOL

I've been doing Swagbucks to add to my book budget. Since July 10 I have made $25 for my book budget. I was skeptical but it couldn't have shown up at a better time for me.

It's hard for me to pay more than $5 for a book. I occasionally will but $2.99 or less is usually what I do buy.
