The Vent and Rant Thread

My rant is that "they" are ruining Canada's CBC Radio!

First "they" cancelled Tom Allen's "Music and Company", which was brilliant. All classical music has been banned during morning and evening commutes, to and from work and/or school. Now there is not a single radio station available in Halifax that plays anything but pop.

Then "they" started interrupting programs with a smary guy who keeps repeating "Canada Lives Here", which is nonsensical. He especially makes his voice smile when he says "Canada".

Now, "they" have changed the news jingle to disco music, which plays for a good minute overtop the voice of the anchor. Its truely bizarre to wake up to a clock radio issuing news about Afghanistan and murder in Fort Hood to disco!

Sorry to rant, but I'm tired of CBC's the identity crisis.

that sucks. We are lucky here in Denver/Colorado to have a great radio station KVOD which I listen to both by radio and internet and contribute money to at every pledge drive!

Like PilotBOb mentioned, the meds here are shipped with a cold bag packed in a special container. This container is shipped inside another box. I know that the ones shipped to the pharmacy usually have to be delivered before 2 days. I hope that the lab tells you it is OK.

they farking BETTER tell me it's ok ! but regardless i think i'm going to make a few suggestions to them about their delivery procedures (like, get some homing pigeons instead, i'm sure they're far more reliable than the post. )

victoria, i hope that CBC figures things out soon. it's terrible when good radio starts to go bad.

Very good rant.... I felt the same when I first moved here and the stations only played country and tex-mex music CD's are my friends

Thanks - that makes feel better! I guess it's true that misery loves company. On the upside, my car lets me play an ipod through the radio speakers, so I'm getting lots of good value from my CDs as well.

Thanks - that makes feel better! I guess it's true that misery loves company. On the upside, my car lets me play an ipod through the radio speakers, so I'm getting lots of good value from my CDs as well.

poor thing , even in a small music market in the states you can usually find at least one classical station. except of course in the bible belt where it's hog reports, grain reports, fire and brimstone, pork belly futures, gospel hour, and hog reports

No hog reports in Halifax, but on a recent trip up north, bingo was playing on radio. I was told its on every Friday night.

First they don't tell you the software has to remote activated, (and I'm installing it on a sterile machine - no external connections.)

Then they send in stuffed in a too tight box. The <bleeping> disc got warped and won't play on the cd/dvd reader....

i've found a good rant here to be extremely cathartic. and somehow a round of sympathetic exclamations makes it easier too.

Thr TARDIS is more stable than my equipment....
