Drizzling the whole day, melting the snow away. Not so beautiful, but for the people who use bikes - much, much safer.

It's been drizzling the whole day, too, here. It's about 15 C, not too cold. I'd rather have some snow, though.

Now we have an arctic air mass moving in this week - our lowest temps of the year - to look forward to.

at times like these, I wish I could still go by bike to work. But 40km is just a tad too far away

At least you don't have to clear your windshield of a solid layer of ice in the morning! And then hope you won't slither into that ditch (on either side of the road, which is about a car-width wide...)

You do clean, at least. But some only breath on the glass to make a see-through the size of a coin. So most scared I am of drivers that didn't clean their windshield that morning and can't see little old me; hunched over my bike. Being blown away and away.................they'll find me in spring.

Well, we tried. We managed to clear the bottom part of the front window (and most of the side windows), but by the time I'm in semi-civilized country, where visibility becomes more important, I usually have about 80% of my windshield cleared. And there was absolutely no wind today!

We've already got that air mass -- it has been very cold today, and the wind hasn't died down at all. The traffic lights here hang in the middle of the intersections from a cable stretching from one side of the street to the other. I drove through one intersection where two of the traffic lights had flipped all the way over the line and were kind of hung up halfway over. It was pretty sunny, though.

Same here now - wind gusts, cold! Daytime highs is the 30's F!
