Thanks hon. I don't mind year round online classes, it's over faster that way. This particular semester is going to take more time than in the past I think, though.

No promises, but I was hoping to get both the Novella and a short story collection up this weekend

Got back from work about an hour ago where I was told that my 'role' is no longer required.

Lots of BS about me having skills that the company would like to retain etc..etc.. but I can't help but feel worried. Let's see how it goes, but it doesn't feel like a good time to be looking for a new job.

The only job I can think of where that phrase would be appropriate is in a theater company.

I hate it when suits use buzz words and phrases. The ones that were popular (and really used in a nearly meaningless manner) when I left the corporate world was "synchronicity" and "a good fit."

If you like your job, then I hope that it just means they are giving you something entirely new to do.

I certainly don't work in a theatre company (nothing like that interesting).

Buzz words are a pet hate of mine as well. In a meeting last week, somebody actually said (and I quote from memory here), "Let's take that on board and solutionize to a positive outcome" - I nearly choked! My boss (otherwise a good guy and one I get on well with) is absolutely fluent in BS and has been known to use phrases like "leverage our synergies" with a straight face. I have kind of appointed myself the team's resident BS detector and take great delight in pointing out to him when he's slipped into BS mode.

Sorry to hear that Bilbo.

Where I work, senior managers have been issuing veiled 'threats' for months. I suspect they're using the economic situation as an excuse to try bullying us into submission (where we get to do more for less, and they get bigger bonuses as a result) - but all they're actually doing is demotivating everyone to the point we just do the job, and don't give a stuff.

Maybe they're trying the same tactics at your place too.
