Of course, since it's summer vacation, I would love to sleep in just a little bit later but Ryleigh has some kind of weird internal clock that wakes her up at 7:00 every morning no matter what time she goes to bed.

They also make a very nice dinner with salad bits. (I'm on a hummus binge at the moment

I was like that too as a child! Although I used to wake up, get a drink, then go back to bed and read - nanna thought I was just being well behaved and thoughtful when really I was being selfish and making the most of undisturbed reading time!

I would LOVE it if she would do that, but unfortunately and much to my total chagrin, she is not a big reader. I know all kids are different, but my older two were reading very early and never went anywhere without a book in hand. I'm sorry to say that I think the hand held gaming devices are ruining reading for many children.

It's a great idea! Maybe I'll download a couple of books for her and let her use them on my old EBW1150. The only problem is, because I was a teacher, I have a HUGE children's book library and I would hate to actually buy them in ebook format.

She's actually pretty savvy, though. I might have to stick some pictures of pokemon characters in the text periodically to get her to read the book.
