I'm almost finished on my novel. It's called 'Sweet Tooth: The Ballad Of Kola Kubes'. It's about a.. well.. how can I put it.. erm.. a porn star. But it's, you know.. tasteful. Ish.

I'm currently working on a Wyndhamesque, very British, disaster novel THE CREEPING KELP.

Someone at the MOD has been playing God, and has genetically manipulated some seaweed to try to make a defensive, harbour-clogging weapon. Unfortunately they have also used some material from a beast found in the Antarctic on the Peabodie expedition...and now rampant mutated Shuggoths are filling the Thames and heading up river...

30,000 words in and going well. This is my attempt to follow up the success of my last one THE INVASION. I can only hope it does half as well...

Yep... the thing was created at the RNAD base at Loch Long during WW2. :-)

My dad used to work there and wanted me to write it into a book... so this is it...

With the start of NaNoWriMo, I'm working on The Wayfarer King, the epic fantasy sequel to The Kinshield Legacy. I have quite a few scenes already written, but I'm not sure I want to use them, so I'm just starting over. I can pick and choose from my favorites once the first draft is completely finished.

Hello, All.

I'm somewhat tentatively and most apprehensively asking this question. First, some background.

I have been writing prose, poetry and short stories since 1967. I actually have self-published a book of my poetry to family and friends but have never considered a "public" forum.

Just how "good" does one have to be in order to publish their work?

I would consider publishing my poetry and prose and some short stories (mind, there is more of the former than the latter) but am unsure as to how to go about doing it as well as the best venue to use.

Would y'all have any suggestions for me?

I'm currently working on a mystery novel. Although I've written a few mystery short stories, this is my first attempt at a novel-length mystery (my other novels have been horror and suspense.)

Two murders twenty years apart stump New Orleans police. Homicide detective Frank Renzi hunts for an elusive mystery woman. So far she's killed three men (2 in New Orleans, 1 in Boston): one shot to the head with a .38 Special.
