Microsoft Windows is very limited in its ability to hide secrets contained in running code from its owner/administrator unlike Android, iOS, and e-ink Kindles. It is largely up to the app developer to find ways to make this access more difficult. Amazon has not been very effective at that so far with their current Kindle for PC app. I doubt that will change much with the new app.
