Hi,

I just received my brand new Kindle (8th Generation) from Amazon in the UK. Its serial number starts with G000KA. I notice that the wiki page only has G000K9, so I'm following the instructions and stopping to wait from advice from the experts in this thread

Please advise if I can continue with the KT3 image or if something else is needed. This model did only start shipping today in the UK after all!

The update_*.bin packages will install only on models in the table and you need several of them.

NiLuJe will have to re-build KindleTool and all the things in the 'snapshots' thread, see post above this one.

It usually does not take too long to add another model.
Subscribe to the 'snapshots' thread, you'll get an e-mail notice when the thread is updated with the re-build news.

That is for a Kindle from what I can see.

But it is not one of ours, someone else did it.

If it is an active document (very likely) it will not run on the KOA or KT3.
You could check that out and see it the Amazon store lists it as available for the KOA or KT3.
Most recent device supported is the PW-2.

I've met some problems similar to what SteveJordan had met when trying degrading my kpw3 device from 5.8.1 to 5.6.11. Let me describe it:

1. Serial begins with G090G1, matched to my device;

2. When the installing process finished, its screen was splited into three parts: one occupies about 1/3 screen on the left side, frozen with the tree picture, the other occupies about 1/5 screen on the bottom of the right part, frozen with some lines, the part occupies the top right corner is the only part that response to me, which stays on the needs-repair screen after every rebooting.

3. When I connect it to my PC, the device reboots automatically and an empty volume appears in "This PC" which says "please insert a disk" and cannot be accessed. When I connect it to my Mac, nothing happens on the computer while the device still reboots automatically.

I have read many replies in the previous pages but can't find a solution to this problem. Can anyone give a solution? Thanks!

A completely expected result, you will have to de-brick it over the serial port.
