I'm surprised by your arguments. Dropbox ? With a 32 GB SDcard, many books could be stored. Wifi and Keyboard usage ? IMHO a e-reader isn't a tablet, the usage of a keyboard function is rare or it's not the good device to use.

A e-ink device isn't an LCD device with a high refresh rate of the screen. The e-readers aren't perfect, but to read, I prefer them

You said that the resolution is too low, maybe. The M92 has the same resolution, a better resolution will be better, but it's really usable.

Some users expect the same usage of a e-ink device and a tablet. I think that, for the moment, it's impossible. It's necessary to choose between the advantages and disadvantages of each technology.

Have you some arguments to reject the Onyx Boox Max when it used only in the aim of reading ?

Obviously we defer on a lot of things on the device

I am sure every user will have a different requirement and experience using this device

Yes, we can differ on the requirement, it's not a problem.

You have used the both devices, so could you give some comparisons or/and weakness of each devices for the reading experience even it's only for PDF ?

Oh God the Max is losing my highlighted notes in neo reader, it's done it three times, twice with quite a lot of highlighting. I'll go back into a document and the notes will be all gone. It seems to save things ok most of the time.

It's for my upcoming exams. How have people avoided this? I don't have the latest software - because I'm afraid that will wipe those of my notes which neo reader has thus far managed to retain.

Is there a way to install the latest software without wiping one's notes? How does the backup process work? Thanks.

i've received boox max today. however i cant seem to open pdf files in landscape mode with two pages. i cant seem to convert to epub due to large size. will appreciate any help thanks !

Some devices' pen get invalid after this upgrade, so it has been cancelled.
Anyhow, here are the changes:
Upgrade content:
1 repaired the problem that could not activate from standby;
2 repaired PDF handwritten notes not completely saved; (You should remember never exit by clicking the home button on top)
3 optimized PDF handwriting pressure sense effect;

Hi,

I currently run the latest ereader-store update (2016/07/04 1.7.5.-rc1).

There is to my opinion a major bug in the OnyxScribbler application. This one sometimes just stops working and after having restarted it, your latest (or all of your) handwritten notes get lost !

I would appreciate the developper to address this issue, because it is quite annoynig to lose several hours of notes ...

So, If you use this application, remember to frequently export your notes.

Does anyone know if the stylus for the Max works on an i86 and how I can get one? Or any stylus that would work on the i86.

I ordered the Onyx Max at Taobao on 15 Jul 2016 and received it on 21 Jul 2016. It's considered fast to have delivered it from Shanghai to Shenzhen and then to Malaysia within 6 days. After using the Max sparingly for a month, my thought about it is as below:

1. The Max has a very big e-ink screen which makes it suitable for reading articles or books, particularly those of PDF format;
2. Having to use the stylus for basic functions such as flipping pages is not so convenient;
3. The Max should have front light because having to use it near a light source is just not practical sometime;
4. I really hope that there'll be manufacturer who would make a silicone sleeve for the Max because the underside of it is rather slippery when placed on a slant surface; and
5. Operating system of the Max needs to be improved so that user could switch from one application to another without having to switch off the first one.

Make the photos, resize them 600x600 is a maximum : ImageMagick per example. Use the picture with a mountain in the window to compose the message to attach the resized photos. The photos are loaded from your hard drive.

Simply use the advanced mode, regular response, rather that quick response. Scroll down and notice Attach Files. Tap on Manage Attachments and follow the instructions.
