Hello! I'm not sure if I'm too late for this, but I bricked my Kobo Wifi N289 (SD went bad, tried to replace, failed miserably) and was wondering if you're still giving out images?

Hello. I picked up this Kobo Wifi Model: N647 from a garage sale. It boots and seems to work OK, but I'm not able to load my ebooks. I have worked with it and studied a lot with no success. I'm thinking the database may be corrupt. Is there an SD image available for this model. Thanks in advance.

If it is a corrupt database, then you should replace the database rather than reimaging the device. There are threads discussion how to do this for the WiFi. But, it is more likely to be a known problem with the last firmware upgrade. This is discussed in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=230628 and the only fix is the image.

First of all, I want to thank you for the image. Weeding through this forum, I see that you are a lifesaver for a great many people.

I downloaded the "USB Duplicator Image Writer" for Windows you recommended elsewhere and successfully wrote your image to the micro SD card after removing it from the ereader. It is working well now, I think. I was able to load books from my library and open and read them.

Would you recommend an upgrade, and if so which number, or shall I just stay where I'm at and use it as it is? Currently I'm using an Aluratek Pro ereader that has no wifi and is not tied to a book supplier at all.

Again, thanks for your efforts, I really appreciate them.

Qwesel: Glad it's working.

As to a new device, it really depends. My favourite at the moment is the Kobo Glo HD: small enough for my commute, but a nice high resolution screen. Unfortunately, Kobo have discontinued this, so it is hard to find. Other than that, any of the Kobo devices are good. There are three sizes to pick from and four resolutions/DPIs. It really depends on what you need.

I think I have the same problem with my Kobo WiFi N647. After charging battery I lost all ebooks and can't download new ones.

Can I get SD firmware image?
