Good morning orlok, cromag and red.

No British Summer Time until 31st March. I wish they'd just abolish it. Giving the whole country jet lag twice a year doesn't seem optimal.

Afternoon pdurrant. I agree, this forward and backward fiddling with the clock is tedious and throws out your body clock something rotten.

I used to think like you, pdurrant, and then I lived in a country without Daylight Saving (I'm still not sure that's the proper word). While living there (and being a European used to spend long evenings outside in the Summer), I missed Daylight Saving. I mean, on the longest day of the year the sun is already high around 4:30 am and it's really dark at 7:00 pm. Really???
So now, I'm not that sure anymore

Something's wrong there. If it's light at 4:30am, 7.5 hours before noon, then it should still be equally light at 7.30pm, 7.5 hours after noon. If it's a lot different, then your city's in the 'wrong' time-zone.

In my city, without BST, mid-summer's day would be from 3.30am to 8.15 pm.

Morning all. I am trying to adjust to losing that hour.

I still feel like it is earlier than it is and it will take me at least a week to adjust to the change. I really do hate it, although I do like the longer light time in the summer when I can come home in the evening and read on the patio.

Our kids are on a staggered break schedule, 5WW. Our daughter got home last week, and will be leaving on Wednesday. Then I pick up our son on Friday.
