I hope my DXG isn't insulted, but after reading on the new K3 for hours last night, I find I like it even better than the DXG. I don't use the keyboard, but like not having to worry about having plenty of room to hold the K3, and decided the longer battery life and larger capacity - along with what I suspect may really be a better screen - made me feel it was all in all a better choice for me than the cute little K4. I would kind of like to have both, though - but can't really justify the cost! Wish I could find a cover I like as well as I like the Noreve I have for the DXG, but settled (so far) for a $9.99 mcover in black that works well enough. It just isn't the nice soft leather like the Noreve. |

![]() I think the whole darker/lighter contrast is just a roll of a dice with a Kindle. I have a black lighted cover but I really like the MEDGE covers. |

![]() I used to like the MEDGE covers - used an executive style on my K1 for 3 years and loved it. When I got my DX, I tried a similar cover, but they had made it wider to accomodate the light and it didn't feel good to me. I also tried a Go jacket, only to find there was no way to keep it closed, so I sent it back too. I think I tried at least 1/2 dozen covers before getting the Noreve, even an Oberon that I just didn't like in spite of it being very pretty and very nice leather. Hated the wool inside, and in general just didn't like the feel of holding it. I'd bought it used on Kindleboards, and sold it there, too. I'm now trying to find the 'perfect' cover for the K3. |

I don't if anyone has mentioned this yet, but the Amazon Kindle covers (for 4th Gen. touch and non-touch models) are now listed as Temporarily Out of Stock rather than Available on Nov 15, and they no longer have the Pre-Order button as it has been changed to the Add to Cart button. This may have no significance whatever, or it might mean they will soon be shipping.
I sure would like the lighted cover for my K4 NT. I know it is pricey, but it is made just for it unlike the 3rd party covers that tend to fit several readers and thus rarely have a great fit. |

I don't think Oberon has released covers for the K4. Marware is the only one i've found that has. Even Amazon has yet to release covers. It is frustrating but I guess that is because the K4 was just released and 3rd party companies haven't had time to design them. However i've heard that covers for the Kobo Touch will work.

I finally sat down and read on the K4. My favorite reading spot where I always read I found I had to up the font size so I could stop squinting. I really blame this on the background being darker then the K3. After I finished I opened up both readers on the same page and compare them at my reading spot. The text contrast I could not tell a difference from but the background was definitely darker then my K3. My K3 looked near white while the K4 is a light grayish color. Why the background makes a huge difference to my eyes I guess only my eyes know.
![]() I did not find it as enjoyable as reading with my K3. I first tried one hand turning which I sometimes do on my K3 but I couldn't do it on the K4 without wedging it against something then giving it a good press. My thumb got sore after two chapters so now I use my other hand to turn the page. I'm now ready for the Kindle Touch! I only hope it has a whiter background then the K4. Some things I could try to trick my eyes would be try a darker font or maybe buy a black skin when they come out to put on the K4. ![]() |

What's wrong with your K3? You seem to have one with an awesome screen.

Just how light/silver/white/whatever is the bezel? I don't like white gadgets and it's a deal breaker, no matter how perfect the device itself is.
