KOReader works quite well. Page turns are smooth and quick.

Librera also works quite well. Librera can open more book formats than KOReader, which may be an advantage.
Has anyone gotten the Kindle app to work on a Glowlight 4 or 4+? I've tried multiple versions of the Kindle app and all basically function the same. Some books open and work fine and some books open but I'm unable to open the text settings for those books. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which books work and which don't. I currently have three library books in Kindle through Libby and two don't work but one does.

I'm currently sideloading loading the apps, but if rooting would help I'm happy to go that route. Thanks for any help!

I just kept trying progressively older versions and so far 4.24.0.27 seems to fully work. I've tried with Libby books, purchased books and epubs I've sent in via e-mail.

stuck on <waiting for devices>

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me? I was following downeaster59's guide and have downloaded the correct files but when I go to ADB and begin the process, it gets stuck on <waiting for devices> when I try fastboot flash boot and I'm not sure what to do? Other info, I eject the nook for ADB to work but keep it plugged in because if not, it won't be detected.. I'm not sure if that is normal or? so, yes. I'm on Windows 11. In device manager it says USB developer.

Thank you.

edit: got it to work, I thought it would be easy after finally getting it after hours.. but right after ABD finished rooting, I now have a white screen.. I think it's bricked or something. I don't know how to recover it or get it back to stock.

Navigation in the Kindle App

How does the Kindle navigation work? I've got a Glowlight 4 (not plus) that I've installed Nova launcher and several versions of Kindle.

I'm able load Kindle and load a book from my library but I have crappy navigation options. I can use swipe or press on the side of the screen but it will only refresh to the next/last page if I press in the center of the screen. That press will bring up the Nook header and the page change will register.

I don't have any way to get to the Kindle settings to change display options, exit the book or change any other app settings. I'm hoping to find something about screen refresh that will fix the first problem.

I haven't had the refresh issues you noted, but all the rest I experienced with any Kindle version other than 4.24.0.27. With version 4 everything works as it should, settings, options, etc.

Thank you for the detailed instructions. I followed it with my Nook Glowlight 4 Plus, and successfully installed Nova Launcher and a File Manager downloaded from apkpure.com. But when I tried to install Koreader following the same route, I got stuck right after hitting the Enter at "adb install Koreader_arm64....apk". I even tried on-device installation after copying the apk to the device and installing it using the File Manager, with no luck (my device quickly says "app not installed"). Even tried older versions of Koreader...apk's. Please help me out here as much as you can. Appreciate it.

Are you certain that your Nook is 64 bit? Did you try the 32 bit version from the KOReader downloads? Latest stable is koreader-android-arm-v2026.03.apk
