yes, but sometimes slower than you think. my grandmother once managed to make one film last for several years when i was a child (she didn't take many photos, apparently). when she finally finished it and had it printed, the photos were a bit reddish tinted but they were still distinguishable.

Indeed it does. Passed the expiration date the film will start to develop a haze.

...unless stored appropriately in a freezer (though a fridge will also slow down the process). Of course, the Good Professor Wood didn't suffix his "I just found an old roll of 35mm film" with "behind some old sausages stuffed up the back of the bottom drawer of the Westinghouse".

(PS. Different films degrade differently. What you can anticipate is some "colour-shift" from expired film)
