It would apply to me -- I've never applied; only done free books -- but I *still* can't think of a reason to join! I only listen on my two long car trips per year. The rest of the time I'd rather read. I'm just collecting audio books as a collection; for later.

Nonetheless, thanks for today's "Perfect Storm", Skinmaan. Someday I may have eye issues, and I'll start devouring the 50G of audio books I've collected.

I don't know if you are a Stephen King fan, but his latest release "Drunken Fireworks" is audio-only - there is no print version (at least that I can find). That might be a reason to try. Best I've got.

It is easy to put the Audible account on hold for 3 months using the online chat facility! I used my credits beforehand (one pre-order) just in case, but it wasn't necessary as I understand it. Very quick and easy to do.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it or not yet, but Andy Weir's The Martian is $5.99 for the kindle book and you can add the audiobook for $2.99 making the total 8.98 for the audiobook as wispersync.
