They switched to UPS a year ago but now, since they only deliver Mon to Fri when many of us are at work, its virtually impossible to get a parcel in a timely fashion. It's a nightmare. There is only one good thing about this development: since all I order now are e-books, the electrons arrive through the air in under 560 seconds and I bypass UPS entirely.
Yeah, I found out the last time I ordered from Amazon.ca (been a quiet year, order-wise.) I've been thinking of writing a complaint about their use of UPS, since after several bad experiences I really hesitate before ordering from a company that ships through them.

Not that FedEx can be as problematic. Purolator were a bit better - they have outlets throughout the city, so I don't have to drive all across the city to wait in line to get my stuff.

Canada Post = great.

Am i the onlyone who thinks the real problem is the OP trying to buy from Mali a product not sold to Mali. Daisey chain shipping a item half way around the world through third partys and puppet buyers is just asking for things to go wrong.

Each time, the person at UPS re-entered the wrong shipping address information - even when the address information was phonetically spelled out to the UPS clerk. This same thing happened last year and I ended up having to go down to the depot and pick the package up (not as easy as it sounds in my neck of the woods).

Whenever possible, avoid UPS and save yourself a bundle of headaches.
Here, I LOVE UPS. Second choice is FEDEX, but only for overnight/2nd day.

Fedex ground is a nightmare, leaving packages at houses all over town (tossed on doorsteps) that are nowhere near here. Few are worse (then again, it isn't really Fedex, just their label on a really bad contractor which used to be it's own ground service -- they haven't changed a bit since then and are just as bad as always).

Right now, I have a package from Amazon that was to be delivered here on Monday - still not here and it says (4 times) that it was checked out of Atlanta last week (Fedex Ground). I suspect I'll never see it and will have to file with Amazon on it soon.

I, too, vastly prefer UPS service here in the Chicago area. Two weeks ago my birthday present shipped overnight via FedEx showed the tracking number as delivered, and when I called FedEx I was told my package was put on the table in the foyer. As I live in a house, and don't have a foyer, and the contents of the package was perishable, I was rather unhappy.

At least you got it. I would have called and asked for a supervisor and told him/her were to get off.
