Received our KlearKase last Thursday, and I'm very impressed. Really, a job well done.

A couple of observations.

1. Quality is first rate. The feel of silicone buttons is excellent, the silicone membrane for the keyboard is exactly the right durometer. the material that covers the display is completely transparent. Yes, the plastic is a little reflective, but it is *crystal clear*. Easy to get used to, IMO. Good show all around.

2. The "Joystick Jewel" caused a little issue with our kindle. With any jewel installed, we were unable to navigate down or to the left. Apparently this is a fitment issue with our particular unit. The fix was simple: we removed a tiny (very tiny) bit of material on the sides of the jewel that are on the left and bottom of the joystick. A minute with a nail file was all it took. All is well now, and no issues so far. If you need a better value for "very tiny bit", I can get my micrometer out :^)

3. Silicone plugs -- what can I say? Somewhat fiddly to get in. Takes some practice, but becomes easier as you get used to putting them in and taking them out. I concur with the gent that would like a little more room for the finger to power on the unit, but there's *just* enough room to work it. I'm getting used to them.

4. Feel. This is a completely subjective issue, but the Kindle "feels" better with the case on. Not just safer, but more substantial. There's more material to grab on the sides, and my wife likes the ability to take it to the pool and read poolside without (excessive) worry.

All in all, an excellent case for the Kindle 2. I recommend it highly!

All the best - Jim

KlearKase is fully functional, which includes the 5-way controller working in all directions. We have identified some manufacturing variability in the jewels affecting a very isolated group of cases. Very creative of you to fix it yourself with a nail file. Anyone else with this problem may contact us through the form at KlearKase.com for a quick resolution.
