Thanks for the info, just bought one on ebay for 7 pounds without shipping charge.

My 600 doesn't want to charge at all. Red charging light doesn't come on anymore, hopefully its a battery thing otherwise i will just upgrade to the 650.

If the battery has gone all the way down, you may need to reset the reader to get it to charge.

I had to do this to my 650 the other day. I used the Push Reset Button, flick power switch 5 times reset, and then it started charging.

I've just fitted a new battery in my 600 thanks to the information in this thread. A nice simple operation, but battery would not charge (on either USB or adapter) until unit had been reset.

Following reset red charge LED iluminates and all is good with the world again
