Does the 300 scale up the default font size? At 'S' setting a capital M with font-size: 100% in the css is 2.1mm high on my 505. If it's the same height on a 300 then the 300 will definitely be sharper - it's a 200dpi device compared to 166dpi on the 505.

HuH? I suspect the answer is yes for most everyone. Google books, Project Guttenberg etc. etc.

I'm very new to ebooks and readers and was asking because I was considering getting a 505. I've never heard of those sites, this is the first forum I've been to regarding ebooks and I know absolutely nothing.

I meant sites like 4shared etc.

Sorry. I didn't mean to be offensive. Project Guttenberg has tons of classic books/literature as does google books.

Here's a few links:

http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

http://books.google.com/

http://www.feedbooks.com/

and of course the MR Library: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/ebo...&sort=dateline

and a ton more on the MobileRead wiki: https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Free_eBooks

Enjoy

Hi Kenny. I wasn't offended, I can understand that I might be asking questions that are obvious to the die hard ebook lovers.

Thankyou for the links, I shall certainly check them out.

Awesome link, thanks Kennyc! Wow, I can certainly see myself getting adicted to buying readers!

I've bought a 505 from ebay and I can't wait for it to arrive to compare it with my iriver story.

Hmm... I'm going to disrespectfully disagree. I read mostly technical PDFs and am quite happy.

That said, I am not one of those barbarians used to scrawling notes in books and don't find using a dictionary that necessary (so few words I don't know).

My Dad is a notes in the margins guy and like his 600. Personally, I think the 600 is more than a tad goofy in the interface... A nice machine, but stupid Sony, in a throwback to SonicStage mentality, made it so PRS+ couldn't be loaded onto the new generation.

PRS+ adds SOOO much great functionality and potential... When I learned new Sonys wouldn't take it; I bought another 505 to warehouse.
