That sounds very interesting. Any ideas about the weight? I'm desperate for something that maybe weigh about half of my DX while still giving me most of the real estate. I can't do the 6" screens.

I'll be interested to see how that turns out, cheers for the information. And also weight wise, it seems difficult to combine size and weight to get the perfect feel.

Looks like they've just completely done away with putting a cover in the box...

Why do you need one? Can't the device be charged from a USB charger?

For devices that are sold world-wide, supplying chargers is a nightmare; there are just too many different types of plug to deal with. When it's a common standard like USB, it's far better to simply let the user buy one locally, should they wish to have one.

It looks really good! Perhaps a tad pricy at 280 pounds though, considering there's no cover with it.

Given that it's $299 US Dollars, it should cost £191 Pounds. £280 is ridiculous.

No, it's not

$299 is without VAT. Add the VAT and you'll come close to the European price.

With VAT I make that 222 GBP. But then again that is pretty typical of US versus European prices for electronics.

I have been searching and doing research about buying an e-book reader for months, probably going back to last summer but I hadn't yet found one that ticked all my must have criteria. I think I have finally found the one I want to buy, the Bebook Neo looks perfect, it has the wifi access I want, with the open format choice and the expandability of all the space I could possibly want, I am sure that I will love using it, I would like to know whether the leather cases currently being sold for the Bebook One would fit the Neo or would I need to purchase a leather case elsewhere to protect my new investment? Any thoughts??

I am currently testing the Sony Daily Edition. So far, the only reason I want to return is the screen. Does anyone know how the Neo's screen compares to it? The Sony really lacks contrast and the background is not even close to white.

I'm not surpised anymore if €1 = $1.

I was seriously considering the Neo until I went to the mybebook.com store and saw that they are going to charge $569 + shipping for Australia. That price, in no way reflects the US price. The Onyx Boox is much more reasonable because I can still buy it at the US price (which would be MUCH cheaper even once converted to AUD and shipping).

Is there anyway to buy the Neo without it registering that I am an Australian customer? Now that I've made the decision to mailorder from the US, I am not willing to pay the overinflated prices that are available here.

I just posted the following on the Bebook forum:
Australian Neo Pricing

So I was thinking about buying 2 Neos.

I go to the Australian Bebook site: 2 Neos cost AU $589 x 2 (plus shipping - the site won't give me a quote but it's obviously not free) = at least AU $1178 which is equivalent to @ USD $1045. This includes 10% tax, which gives us, before tax USD $950.

I go the the regular Bebook site: 2 Neos cost USD $299 x 2 plus USD $50 shipping (to Australia) = USD $648. I'd buy it through the regular site but as soon as i allow it to see my ip address it jacks the price up to AUD $589.

So there is a price difference of more than USD $300 (probably more like USD $350 after shipping costs) for 2 Neos in Australia.

This is my favourite part: We are proud to announce our new eReader at an introductory price. Is it a super high introductory price? How bizarre..

Keeping in mind that we still have to add shipping to the first number, how is this pricing in any way fair? Sorry, but I'll be buying a Cybook or Sony now.
It'll be interesting to see if I get a response. I'm tired of getting ripped off here! And this to me seems like exactly that - somehow thinking we'll pay more due to the fact we're in Australia. Even though it's coming from NL and they're charging us for shipping.

Also strange, I've just noticed that the Australian site is charging AUD $589 while the regular site is charging AUD $569. Neither price is acceptable though.
