I think my heart says go for the sony touch for the case , ease of getting it and fingures touch, and my mind says go for the boox 60 for folders and clarity

Last weekend I bought a Sony prs 600. During the weekend I played with it.

What is good about it is the dictionary lookup. Nice. double tap and a nice screen shows up. But that's about it. Glare was horrible as well as the software. No folders and really painful slow data transfer (using calibre). So I got rid of it (back to the store).
Now I'm the proud owner of an Onyx Boox 60. Much better. Glare is gone, Fast data transfer into folders. Sony sucks. Get yourself an Onyx. You won't regret it.

Good very glad to hear it, meant to update this yesterday but the hotel wi-fi was kept cutting me off.

I ordered the boox 60 yesterday, although paypal are being very annoying and defined the transaction as a potential security threat, so I had to pay by eCheque which takes about 7-10 days.

Still your experience makes me very glad I went for the boox 60, I might also look into developing an RSS reader/downloader for it so it could download the news overnight while at home and then read it on the commute.

Nice the way you lumped all Sony products into one statement. I'm sure all of the 600 owners will shortly agree with you and return their products. Think I'll keep the 300 though.

Glad you enjoy the Onyx, I have read good things about it...

Hi Ron,

I'm happy you liked the post. I was a bit too harsh on Sony but the first Sony device I got broke down (cassette player and the gear worn out..) So I went to the headquarters of Sony and their big chief said 'Do you really think this product works after more than one year?' Well I was very young then and saved money for another one. Yes, I am biased away from Sony.

Probably not the best way to start off with a company I must say that I have had nothing but good luck with my Sony products. Hoping I am one of the lucky few that always gets the "good" product and not one with an issue. Unfortunately EVERY company will have a product get off the assembly line that is below standard and the person that gets it will have issues and end with a bias against the product/company. Sony, imo, has a pretty good record of quality hardware, but bad ones do get through. Wishing you happy reading with your Onyx.

If you make generalizations based on one case, you'll miss out on a lot that is good in the world. All I know is that their retail experience needs some help. They appear to be anti-Apple and have always been shortsighted on their electronics pricing. Just look at their TVs, totally overpriced based on feature set when compared to Samsung and VIZIO.
