Long commutes and a job in education and adult entertainment. No TV at home...a bit too much internet though

Really not so much spend too much time in junk TV shows.
Manage to finish Angel & Demon from beginning to the end, and have some books stuck in the middle and never picked up.

I've got a 1.5 to 2 hour train commute, so extra sleep in the morning and read on the way home. Weekends and evenings at home are for the family and getting stuff done around the house.

I had no idea either, but I just put together this list since you Twisted my arm!
and came up with 17 + a couple since beginning of October 2009.

Books read in 2009
(actually this was only the last part of 2009 after I bought my Sony 505 on 9/27/2009)

The Heart is a Lonley Hunter - Carson McCullers
Sons and Lovers - D.H. Lawrence
The Road - Cormac McCarthy
No Country for Old Men - Cormac McCarthy
Homer and Langley - E. L. Doctorow
The March - E. L. Doctorow
Last Night in Twisted River - John Irving
Half Broke Horses - Jeannette Walls
At the Earth's Core - Edgar Rice Burroughs
A Few Short Notes on Tropical Butterfiles - John Murray
Flashforward - Robert J Sawyer
Of Human Bondage - W. Somerset Maughm
Say You're One of Them - Uwem Akpan
Selected Stories of Phillip K. Dick - PKD
South of Broad - Pat Conroy (abandonded)
Sweet Land Stories - E. L. Doctorow
The Year of the Flood - Margaret Atwood

+ a lot of short stories in various anthologies and collections.
+ at least some work related technical reading and other non-fiction

1) Not long commute, but usable one--25-35 minutes, twice a day, every weekday;
2) No, I don't watch TV at night. Husband does; I read.
3) Always always always have PRS-505 with me; I read in the line at the cafe, while walking to the bus, during long elevator trips.
4) I read fast. 100+ pages/hour for fiction was my standard rate for years, but I think I read faster now.

Combination of no family in the area, no children, no television, a husband who is very understanding and a mildly compulsive nature.

My long reading list is due to sitting for hours in my own business waiting for customers to pop in. This year has been extremely quiet as far as tourist went.

My mind is teaming with possibilities of what that might really mean.

I'll be using Book Collector from Collectorz.com. I've set up a new database: to be read in 2010

Nah, practically no TV for me. I sincerely think that books are way better entertainment than TV!

And I think that both have their place...reading novels & watching TV is entertainment. I love to read, and I love TV!

I like both too, but it's my husband that can't be in a room unless the TV is on... Ugh
