Aaaaaand...that's what broke me. The 100% rebate made me clean out my wishlist to about half its size. I was so good until then but my micropay balance had dipped below 100 dollars and needed an infusion!

Maybe I'll try again in December

They haven't got me yet!

Although today they're trying again - a one-off 15% discount on my next ebooks purchase. Valid until the 17th!

Must resist.... I have well over 300 lovely books to read. I don't need to buy anymore...

I could do with some moral support. Fictionwise have just released a 25% off Fantasy ebooks, 24-hour discount code. Combining that with 100% microspay rebate and the 25% off magazine subscriptions.....

No! I really don't need any more ebooks at the moment!

Help?

Well, let's see. How many books on your reader to be read? I'm sure there'll be another sale in the future. Hang tough.

Thank you - that's what I keep telling myself too - there'll be as good a deal or better again sometime in the next couple of years!

I'll go and move them all to my wishlist :-)

48 items in my wishlist now :-)

You know what? I'm feeling quite good about not buying any ebooks. In fact, I'm going to say:

I will not only not buy any ebooks in November, I won't buy any more ebooks until 2010!

By which time, my "to be read pile" might possibly have dropped below 375...

Fictionwise defeated me. The combination of their 40-60% off promotion and a 25% discount code was just too much temptation.

But I did only use my existing micropay! So I haven't /really/ bought them today — I'd spent the money before November in fact....

Hmmm... not very convincing. Sigh. I really thought I'd be able to hold out, but 70% discounts were too much.

Umm... not a sale - two combined sales. And yes, I should have resisted anyway. Sigh...

This challenge has been quite interesting. I still have not bought any books.

I was calculating that if I read 2 books a week from now on then I will not read all the books I have in my lifetime so I do not need to buy any more books - ever! In addition to what I already have my list of ebooks grows by about 100 a month from free book offers and 'other sources' so I still get to try new authors and read current releases as well as my tried and tested favorites.
