If we adopt PADD then I'll have to spend a good portion of my life being accosted by Trekkies telling me how the device name originated in Star Trek. I don't know if I could put up with that for any length of time

I'd think sales numbers of reading devices would skyrocket if they'd deliver a French lady reading out loud with every device bought!

And, no, she wouldn't have to wear a liseuse to read to me. I wouldn't look at the cloth anyway ...

Only problem may be that she'd only speak French. But I wouldn't pay attention to the story anyway, too ...

or

MAFIA - Masterful Application For Interesting Adventures (naah, sounds somewhat ambiguous ...)

or

ROFL - Reading On Film Layer (at least it sounds funny ...)

or

LINGO - Liseuse In Night Gown, Oy! (okay, I'll stop ...)

hmmmm....given the results of the recent survey posted here on MRF, I suspect "e-thingy" might prove either accurate in relation to the market's dominant demographic or perhaps, unfortunate.
