Isn't Italy the nation of Fashion? Nah, actually it's just that I am lazy and didn't look up what a clothes shop is called in English Back on topic: why not using the term Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy? I admit that the name suits the Kindle only, but I think that in the future all dedicated readers will share the same characteristics... It was xkcd that gave me the hint: http://xkcd.com/548/ Last edited by Lo Zeno; 08-04-2009 at 12:33 PM. |

If we adopt PADD then I'll have to spend a good portion of my life being accosted by Trekkies telling me how the device name originated in Star Trek. I don't know if I could put up with that for any length of time |

I'd think sales numbers of reading devices would skyrocket if they'd deliver a French lady reading out loud with every device bought! And, no, she wouldn't have to wear a liseuse to read to me. I wouldn't look at the cloth anyway ... Only problem may be that she'd only speak French. But I wouldn't pay attention to the story anyway, too ... |

We could call it DRM - Digital Reading Machine (oops, may get people confused ...) or MAFIA - Masterful Application For Interesting Adventures (naah, sounds somewhat ambiguous ...) or ROFL - Reading On Film Layer (at least it sounds funny ...) or LINGO - Liseuse In Night Gown, Oy! (okay, I'll stop ...) |

Just use the term eBook reader. When you say eBook Reader (note the capital R), you mean Sony Reader. So doing it as eBook reader (not the small r) would make it generic enough. Last edited by JSWolf; 08-04-2009 at 01:05 PM. | |
