That's a sad end. Hope to see you around here, maybe with an 800?

That's a bit of a blow and a damn fool resolution. They should just give a cheque or at least allow you to purchase a replacement.

Anyway, hope to see you around the forums with whatever device you return with

I have the Astak Pocket Pro, I love it. But I'm peeved about the resolution to things. It's not like PC World even sells eBook Readers. Grrrrr.

That's really weird. I'm not sure I've heard of an insurance company resolving a claim by giving you store credit. I could understand more if they were going to be repairing it, and insisting on a specific repair shop. But I would assume if they were going to pay out that they would give you cash.

The have a strictly no cash policy, they are part of Barclays.

I did tell them I was fine with them simply buying me a new from from Libresco, which is where I bought mine originally, however they do everything through DSG. I would imagine that they don't have to pay the full cost of the voucher if they do it this way. So cost savings all around.

Maybe I should barter the voucher for cash :-P

I might look for a larger format eBook reader next year. I'll just have to see whether or not DSG (PCWorld or CurrysDigital) sell an eBook reader.
