you can download the Linux binary here.
ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/editors/ted/T...ux_ix86.tar.gz
I am afraid you will need a little bit of "Commandline Kung-Fu" to make it run.
Download the package and put it somewhere, for example into
/tmp/tedinstall
then download installation script
ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/editors/ted/installTed.sh
put it into
/tmp/tedinstall
and run command
cd /tmp/tedinstall
sh /tmp/tedinstall/InstallTed.sh
as root
this should install the program.
If this does not work use source
ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/editors/ted/ted-2.17.src.tar.gz
You can unpack the src using point and click interface.
Then start Terminal, or Konsole, log in as root,
start midnight commander by typing
mc
then navigate to the directory where you unpacked the sources and type
make install
That should do it.
I'll copy/paste that and mess with it later.
DOS was no problem way back when, so this shouldn't be too strange either.

I think I'll skip the metadata stuff for now.
The file's title will be the ebook's title.
In the book is mention of me as the author.
Good 'nuff for now.
Thanks for the command line stuff and the TED link.

How do I get the file to the board? Or to you?
Normally with the forum software, there's an "Additional Options" section when creating a post, which has a "Manage Attachments" sub-section. It might be hidden in an "Advanced" section, or it might be that it doesn't appear until you're posted a certain number of posts - I'm not sure. Alternatively, you could email me, either via the dropdown that should appear when you click on my name on the left or direct at gwyn dot evans at gmail dot com.

I'll take the RTF & upload it there & also re-convert based on that. (Mostly out of interest, as my understanding is that conversions from LIT shouldn't have lost any info, so it'll only 'add' anything that was lost in the original RTF -> LIT translation.)

I'll send you a zipped copy this evening and explore attachments here later. I'm still locating stuff.
Thanks,
Ed

Now updated in the other post - interestingly, there did appear to be some formatting missing in the LIT->LRF conversion. I'm also going to create a new thread, as the RTF/EPUB/LRF results might be interesting to others - Link

Kewl. Thanks, milady.
It'll be interesting to see the reported differences.

Website URL update and question

Someone can zap it into Sony format and make it a free download here.
Thanks,
Ed

URL Update: I'm no longer at netfirms (per above links).
They 'upgraded' something and Linux users couldn't access my website.
When I mentioned the problem, they danced like drunken cloggers and said it must be my OS/browser/connection/etc...
Only problem with that little fantasy is that I'd changed nothing and other Linux users around the country were reporting the same problem.
No fix after a month, so I canceled the account.

NEW URLs:
http://www.AbintraPress.com
http://abintrapress.metrohosting.info (mirror)
http://abintrapress.netai.net (mirror)

Now, about my title "An Encounter in Atlanta"...

I can't find it here in the ebooks section.
Tried searching on 'Howdershelt', too. No luck.
That book is a total freebie, so it can safely be added to the pile.
I WOULD like to send up a newer version due to formatting changes.
For some reason (been a while, forgot why) I had to let someone else handle things the last time.
I'll see if I can upload it, but just in case, how about someone who will definitely have no problem sending it up replying to this message?
Thanks,
Ed

Oops. Found it by paging through the epubs. Sorry 'bout that.
Still wondering why 'search' couldn't find it, though.
Thanks again,
Ed
