My cat can disappear. As in "become invisible"

as soon as we're tired of looking for him, he magically 're-appears' ......from wherever he disappeared to.

Strictly and indoor cat, so I know he couldn't find anywhere to hide..............

Milford on Sea, ish (see link above ) It's called the New Forest as it was a newly created (or designated, given the forest was already there...) royal hunting forest a few hundred years ago (1086)).

Ours were like that too - I never did find all of their hiding places, although it always amazed me the small gaps they could get into!
