You didn't need to wait! :-) Up near the top of this page, look for the link titled "E-Books"! The Sony will read LRF & EPUB formats (and PDF, but they don't have their own section).

What should I use to protect my 505 in the laptop bag? It will be placed in front of the laptop compartment; so, when the bag is laid flat, there wont be too much weight on it. However, there could be times when the bag could go face down leaving the 505 under the weight of the laptop, documents, etc. A "hard shell" type case would be ideal in this particular case.
