Yeah, I talked with them on the phone, and they said they're waiting for you to get fed up enough to bash yours to pieces with a bat so the rest of us don't have to listen you complain about the update, too.

Last they said it was in testing. No date announced that I've seen.

At http://i-to-i.irexnet.com/ they say:
"Both the PDF and EPUB support will become available through a software release scheduled in quarter 2 2009, more details will follow later."

I assume this will be their next release and no intermediate to solve the 'pen-bug'.

I'm afraid, this scenario will come true. Though Karel stated nothing about epub in his announcement a month ago...

They haven't said if it's the same release or not. They did say a month ago that they've been working on reducing power consumption and improving the way it wakes from sleep mode, and that those changes are currently being tested. They did not give any dates for release, or mention if it will be a separate one or included with the Adobe DE support.

If you have an RSS reader on your mobile phone or PC you can get the announcement from the iRex i to i blog or iRex Technologies - Latest News which had its last update on 2/4/09.

By the way if anyone can help. I have the RSS feed for the Mobileread Iliad but can't find the feed for the Digital Reader forum. Does anyone know the address for this forum?

I wasn't aware MobileRead had RSS feeds for individual forums. Neat!

If you are using Firefox you can click the orange RSS icon in the address bar to find out the URL of the feed. For the Digital Reader forum it is:

Code:
https://www.mobileread.com/feeds/174_rss20.xml

Wait a minute. You said you were not aware there were feeds for the individual forums and then you posted the address for this forum. Did you just find it? Thanks, it works.

This one is for the iliad forum. I just checked and it appears this feed is grabbing stories from the different secions in the iliad forum. The one disappointment is they don't update in real time when you run a refresh. Unlike dpreview which is a very active site and updates immediately. Of course they are owned by Amazon.

Code:
https://www.mobileread.com/feeds/99_rss20.xml

Very cool. I've added this link to Mobipocket Desktop Reader.

It comes up as:

MobileRead Networks - the resource for mobile geeks seeking information and advice for keeping their gadgets happy.

We're geeks?

If you search in Mobipocket Reader eNews store for "Mobileread", there's only 13 hits.

Yes its true that new firmware is there for Nokia 5800. This New Firmware V21.0.025 is Selectively Available for Nokia 5800. This latest firmware update for the Nokia 5800 has started to circulate slowly.

The update is available via NSU for product codes like 0575407, 0575408, 0581337 from some Asian regions only for now.
What has nokia to do with DR1000?

I assumed that Nokia had just bought out iRex and re-branded the DR1000 as a Nokia 5800. I figured that johnson347 got a hold of an unreleased press announcement and that the rest of us just hadn't heard about the company being sold yet.

Either that or they posted to the wrong forum.

Last edited by Alexander Turcic; 04-29-2009 at 12:19 PM. Reason: I doublechecked; the guy who posted about Nokia was a spammer.
