Did you already preorder the Kindle 2? (poll) - Page 4

I am torn - I really really am the gadget queen and needs the newest usually - but my K1 is working good (except for some Battery issues that may be related to the SD card I am using) I have a battery on order but have no idea when it will come. The thing is I bought my K1 at full price before the Oprah deal - I have the charger for the car for it and a nice red super duper M-Edge cover with the light. So I have invested a bit of change into it - But I suppose that since the car charger is the I-Go charger they will have an adapter for the new one soon so I could still use it. AND with the update for the K1 we just got I can zoom in on pictures and delete from the home page - so I should just wait for K3 to come out right - right --- come on help me here --- Convince me that the K3 will have the SD slot back at least. I've already had to put books on it and I don't even have any free books or other books from anywhere but Amazon (I do have Amazon offered free ones on it though) So I am worried I will fill up the memory on the K1 pretty quickly. . . and I know that Amazon stores my books from there on their site - and that I could store them on my computer but the ease of the SD card beats both of those. .. And I can make a mystery SD, a SciFi SD, a fluffy romance SD etc etc.... so it is kind of like having folders ....

oh I am torturing myself here - all of the above negatives - but the thin, the faster, the more gray scale colors .....

hmmmm maybe if I save up my Amazon rewards, ask for gift certificates for bday and Valentines Day and turn in a bunch of change at CoinStar for Amazon Certs..... then I could justify it --- AND keep my K1 for use for places that may be harder on it than normal - like camping, canoe trips, riding in the golf cart with hubby at shoots, the boat .....

I went ahead and ordered it yesterday -- a good bit due to "gotta have the latest and greatest". Oh well -- that's who I am, I guess! The K1 can go either to my husband, or will be a great spare.

Wanted to get wifey a K1 for Christmas, but none available. So, since my love for her knows no bounds, I will give her my K1 and order a new K2 for me. And they say romance is dead...

I've been lusting after the K1 almost since it was first released (I'll admit, I did have some skepticism about it until I started reading the reviews from other book-lovers who didn't think they'd like it, either). I held off, and when the rumors of K2 started in earnest in October, even resisted the Oprah offer. So of course I'm going to jump on the K2. Just waiting for some Amazon rewards certificates to come in the mail...

Would I rather wait until K3? In theory, yes, but with the amount of traveling I do, another year's wait just doesn't make sense. And I learned a long time ago, don't put off tech purchases for more than a month or to for "maybe" features in a new release.

Can't wait to get it!

In additional, the K1's have held their value very well. Used ones are selling on eBay for $300 in minutes. So, I suspect you could see the K2 in a year for close to that also.

Kindle 2 looks cool, but pretty pricey. I thought it would have been cheaper. If I had that much disposable income, maybe I'd order one.

I'm interested in what Sony has cooking. I filled out a survey on their site a few weeks ago & they were asking all sorts of things about wireless, color display, etc. & asked that you prioritize them & add a wish list.

It really got me thinking & what I'd really love (besides a color screen) would be CBZ support. it would be great to read comics on a Kindle or Sony Reader.

I love my kindle. i did order the k2 and will probably order the k3 when it comes out. I love books but now i don't have to store them. I hate dusty and musty smelling books. i can't wait until it comes. i love reading and quilting.

If K1 owners got priority, I wonder why my K2 isn't shipping until March 2. It's released on Feb 24th. What the hell takes them almost a week to ship it?

When I placed my order it defaulted to '4-day shipping' with a delivery date of 03/02/09, which is pretty much 4 business days. I figured, WTH, why should I start worrying about money now

, upgraded to 1-day shipping and should receive it 02/25.

Yes... it is released (shipped) on the 24th. If you want it sooner then pay for overnight shipping and get it on the 25th.

Although I would like to point out that I am a first time user and getting this deal, so either Amazon has a LOT of Kindles in inventory or they are treating everyone as a previous Kindle user.

I'd been fascinated with the Kindle since it came out, but the price was too much...Then it went down in price to $359, and I had a fresh round of considerations...but ultimately decided it was still to expensive.

Then, with the Oprah promotion, it was low enough for me to convince myself to get it...

...and then like the next day or maybe it was even the day I ordered it, that I found the info on BGR with the pics and leaked stuff on the K2. So then I planned to play with the K1 for a bit, then return it and just wait for the K2 if I liked the Kindle experience.

So I paid to ship it back...then, when I heard the rumors that they were announcing on 2/9, I pre-ordered a Kindle (version 1 at the time) on 1/29...then waited anxiously to hear the announcement and to learn what they were going to do with the back-orders...

...Mine's supposed to ship between 3/9 and 3/16. Ah, the wait.....
