Finally !!!!!

The newest firmware is now available for download to my original model Scribe! (I know I could have done this manually, but I'm feeling lazy.)

And given what I've read of this firmware, you may not want it.

I use my Scribe mainly for reading PDFs. The writing function is totally wasted on me. If I could toss that aspect out the window, I would.

(Writing with a real pen or an electronic one is still too painfully slow for me due to the stroke I had about 8 years ago. And I used to love writing with a pen: I was fast with my cursive! BUT, I would not be adverse to having a good tablet and a keyboard, to take with me instead of my computer. Strangely enough, I have no problems in using my left hand to type, but those first 2 or 3 years, I couldn't even pick up intentionally spilled beans on the table as I went through therapy, trying to pick each one up and depositing each bean in a cup. Also, during that time, I couldn't even hold a fork with my left hand! And don't get me started on eating peas!)

Cursive, what's that?

I also write faster using cursive vs print. Although once PCs became popular, I prefer typing (and I'm a touch typist).

Just converted a comic via KCC to PDF last night and I transferred to my scribe colorsoft and it kept the color, also I could write on it. I transferred through USB not send to kindle

I thought I tried this yesterday and color was not there. I'll check again.
