HI, PDF support is one of the most wanted features. And it will also be an option, no need to use it if you don't want to. Or simply if you do not have any PDF files, you will not notice anything.
And that epub editor will not be a "full scale" epub editor, it will be just a browser and quick metadata editor, incorporated into macos finder interface, just like panels.app is doing for comics: https://www.panels.app/#library-features

It's not a matter of it being optional or not. The code will load and be there taking up ram it doesn't need to. Why not make a separate PDF reader? Just once could we please have an ePub reader that just handles ePub?

OK.
What would you do, if you were me and 50% of people say THERE MUST BE PDF READING IN THE APP and the other 50% say THE OPPOSITE?
And they say it in CAPS :-)

I decided to build into the app what users want. At launch the app will be without PDF. And if people decide PDF is what they want the most, then PDF will be built into the app.

I personally am on your side: no PDF support.

The thing is, iOS ready has good apps to handle PDF and if you want the best app for PDF, that would be GoodReader.

Make a separate app after the ePub app was finished. One without PDF first and then one with PDF.

The problem is (IMHO) is too many people want an app to do it all when what's needed is just an app to do one thing well. That one thing is to display ePub.

I rather find myself on JSWolf's side here. PDF and ePub are very different. Viewing most PDFs on anything other than a large iPad is pretty pointless.

If it didn't take much time or attention away from ePub support, I suppose it wouldn't be dreadful to do it.

But I suspect that it would take lots of time and attention.

Thank you both for response.

That one thing is to display ePub. This was my aim at the beginning (and say, still is).

I am rather tired of people asking for features that never should be added.
