Sigil-2.4.0 Released

Again, this happening when attempting to exit Sigil in any way is expected behaviour (which I just changed). I am only interested in how to recreate the seemingly random closing of F&R with things NOT associated with closing or exiting out of Sigil (whether aborting the close or not) that was reported by Vanguard and DNSB earlier in this thread.

It may have happened to me, but if I wasn't actively using F&R, e.g. I was using spellcheck, the metadata editor, reports, etc and it disappeared I might not notice it… even if I did, I'd reinstate it via the menu or shortcut and move on.

I just tried to reorder the TOC using the Edit TOC icon.
I can't move an existing entry .

No trouble here reordering the toc with the Toc Editor on Windows 10 and on Linux with 2.4.0. Using either the Toolbar icon or the Tools->Table of Content->Edit Table of Contents menu item. Epub2 or Epub3.

Unless I'm misunderstanding. I highlight an existing entry in list and then use the arrow buttons (in the dialog) to reorder and nest (and unnest) entries. Changes are reflected in the ToC dockwidget and the OPF (after hitting the OK button to close the dialog).

I repeated what DiapDealer tried above on MacOS with no difficulties on either an epub2 or an epub3 (assuming he meant to say the NCX and not the OPF)

So will you please provide more details of exactly what you are trying so that we can recreate the issue you are having.

Is it the NCX that is not showing the changes? If so, have you tried rebuilding the TOC/NCX after the editing?

I completely missed the arrow cross. I was trying to Drag the entry to the new location. Senior moment?

I've never noticed the random loss of the F&R on my Linux Sigil when switching between text and image tabs in Code View.

Thanks for reporting back. I have tested on MacOS and Manjaro linux and I am not seeing any issues with F&R randomly closing either.

So we will worry about this when someone can actually recreate it in a repeatable manner on some platform.

I wonder if this is another instance of mistaken identity.

The calibre editor hides its F&R panel when the CV window is showing an image, gets reinstated when text is shown. The other instance being dragging TOC entries into place as reported by @theducks, which can be done in the calibre TOC editor.

Sigil also hides the F&R window when showing an ImageTab (ie. not a CodeView tab).
