The only way I can think to do this (with my not-so-mad skilz set) is with several Cascading Style Sheets, and that would only work for the html.

I hear you about the difference between a computer screen and a mobile device. Very different reading experiences, for sure.

If you create a good source with two different CSS (to have and to not have line spaces) then when you generate the various formats, you can have two different versions for each format (one with line spaces and no indent and the other without and indents).
