Pocketbook Era lockscreen / standby image - Page 4

Doesn't work. I even downloaded known-good images from a reliable source and they don't work. I don't think the current Era Lite firmware supports this.

OK, got it working. It was combination of two things:

1. My power management settings
2. The file I was using

For some reason, the power management was to turn the device off after 10 minutes, not put it to sleep.

I'm on a Mac and used Pixelmator Pro to save the images as BMP files. Those did not work, even though a tool said they were 24-bit bmp files. I even through the images into Claude and asked it to convert the images to 24-bit bmp files that the PocketBook could use. Still didn't work.

Then I loaded them in GIMP and just resaved them as BMP files. When prompted, I selected 24 bit RGB and saved. Threw them on the Kobo and they worked.

Pocketbooks are VERY fussy about the format of BMP files for sysem icons and logos/wallpapers,

It's often best to drop JPG files on the device, open them with PocketBook's own Gallery app, then take a screenshot. The screenshots will be ideal BMPs for logo wallpapers for your device.

Edit: You can even pinch-to-zoom before screenshotting for a basic crop
